   java almond [nut/berry]   from a tree originating in India, these large nutty fruits have a juicy taste with distinct notes that we recognize as commercially grown almonds.
  new!  vanilla bean flan [vanilla/gourmet]   ooh la la, this classic vanilla is supercharged with rich, creamy, mouthwatering gourmand notes.  think: sweet vanilla beans on steroids.

   star anise [fruit/spice]   star anise fruit is native to southwest China; it is used in making Anisette and Pastis liqueurs, and has a distinctly sweet and sophisticated peach-licorice fragrance. (factoid: star anise has a vital function as the source of shikimic acid from which the drug Tamiflu is made, the only defense currently against the bird flu pandemic).
